Active Acidophilus-20™
60 Vegetarian Capsules

Active Acidophilus-20™ supplement is a 2-strain probiotic blend of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidus lactis offered in a unique shelf-stable capsule.  Each vegetarian capsule contains at least 20 billion viable microorganisms (average per capsule based on testing of 2 lots at 12 months) intended to provide nutritive support for the establishment and maintenance of favorable intestinal flora.

This product has an enteric coating to maximise the survival of the micro organisms through the harsh stomach acids into the small intestine.

Suitable for lacto-vegetarians

The normal human digestive tract naturally contains about 400 types of these beneficial bacteria that help reduce the growth of harmful bacteria and help support healthy digestive and immune system function. The largest group of probiotic bacteria in the intestine is lactic acid bacteria, which are also used in foods such as yogurt, cottage cheese, sauerkraut and fermented soy products.

A study done on healthy elderly volunteers suggests that probiotics can maintain in the intestines well beyond the testing period.  A large population of these “good” bacteria can help keep “bad” bacteria, yeast and other compromising microbes from overpopulating the intestines.
